It seems the same every year.
There’s boxes in the house with special wrapping paper. And there are lights, music, food and special guests.
And amid all the activities, Max watches and waits.
And on Christmas morning Max sits patiently waiting as we open gifts with family, somehow knowing – expecting – his gift.
And when we hand him his special gift – he gets so excited he can barely contain himself.
Sometimes its a new squeaky toy or ball, which he grabs and runs from one end of the room to the other, prancing with glee. He’ll toss the toy high in the air and then catch it, or he’ll play hide and seek with it, or tug.
Then after hours of play, we’ll see him, sleeping with this new toy tucked in his bed with him.
He just seems to know that this is a special day – and that there will be something special for him to enjoy, too. And, I think he’s so very happy to be part of the family celebration.
Dog’s Love the Holidays, nearly as much as we do….
And so, if you get busy buying and wrapping and baking and cooking… remember the family member who may not be asking for the newest gizmo or gadget.
He’s the one, lying on the rug watching all the action, hoping he’ll be part of the celebration too.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all those wonderful pets – including yours – who make our homes so homey!
